Life Underwriting (Rules/Automation) Specialist - (2) Openings
We are partnered with a growing technology company who develops products specific to the Insurance industry. We have a current position open for a Life Underwriting Specialist this is a non-production underwriting role, but requires experience as a Life Underwriter to be considered. You will be working closely with the life underwriters and underwriting department at carriers/brokers and act as... a liaison between clients, vendors, and engineering to provide oversight and guidance as a former Life underwriter while working on and managing special projects. You will also as a subject matter expert on all things related to the underwriting process, requirements needed, data required, etc.
You will assist on developing rules, underwriting preferences, expectations, and aversions of the carriers and reinsurance companies. You will work to create rules and questions designed to enhance the automated underwriting process. You will also collaborate with reinsurers to identify the variables needed to allow insurers to make better underwriting decisions using our clients proprietary technology.
You will also work closely with external vendors (Data, Medical Record, Rx, etc.), drive special projects, develop product enhancements, on board new customers, identify potential risks or issues, maintain up to date acceptance criteria and assist with client development as well as attend industry conferences and events.
Requirements Include
2+ years of traditional Life Underwriting experience
Experience with technology, comfortable with SalesForce, etc.
Experience with rules writing and/or automation for Life Underwriting
Polished communicator comfortable with face to face meetings
Innovative thinker and natural solutions finder
Able to function in a fast paced start up type environment, wear multiple hats, be hands on
Experience with Data, NLP, AI are all a plus
Experience collaborating with high level stakeholders a plus
Detail and process oriented
Able to travel
This is a full-time permanent position offering excellent base pay, annual bonus, medical and retirement benefits, vacation/PTO and great work life balance.
This is a full-time work from home position that will require regular travel
