Job description: LiDAR Image Scientist, SeniorKey Role:Leverage advanced and specialized physics research expertise to test and analyze physical phenomena, conduct and shape R&D programs, and support S&T client challenges. Work without considerable direction, and mentor and supervise team members.Basic Qualifications:
7+ years of experience with LiDAR, remote sensing, image processing, or image science
3+ years of experience with applied image processing and scientific analysis of LiDAR data, including scientifically processing and exploiting LIDAR data such as viewshed or line of sight analysis, point cloud manipulation and editing, Z-clipping, slope, hillshade, aspect analysis, feature digitization, FOPEN analysis, and 3D modeling, and scientifically processing LIDAR data from Civil and Commercial imaging systems
Experience using ArcGIS such as Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst, and LIDAR Analyst, QT Modeler, ENVI, and Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access, or Excel
Experience with the U.S. IC, specifically imagery collection and exploitation and GEOINT's role in the intelligence mission
Experience collaborating with multiple nation and service intelligence agencies or centers
Knowledge of sensor design principles and their relationship to sensor performance, and the tasking of overhead intelligence collection systems
Knowledge of the tasking of overhead intelligence collection systems and the Windows operating system
Ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels in the GEOINT community
TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
Bachelorâs degree in an Image Science, Remote Sensing, Earth Science, Physical Science, Engineering, CS, Statistics, or Science field
Additional Qualifications:
Experience developing and delivering lesson material in a formal classroom environment or for digital recording in video or CBT format
Experience with microlearning, video editing, and lesson plan development principles
Experience using Microsoft SharePoint
Experience with IDL, MATLAB, or a similar image or signal processing capability
Experience in atmospheric science
Experience with GIS software and methodological principles, especially ArcGIS, the development and use of APIs, and the Amazon C2S cloud infrastructure framework
Experience with the IC implementation of the C2S cloud framework, especially PKIs and content or access security constraints
Possession of excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Masterâs degree in Social Science or Security Studies, or a Science field
Completion of Formal Training in a Remote Sensing, Earth Science, Physical Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field
