Licensed Veterinary Technician - Neurology

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring a Neurology Veterinary Technician for their Johns Creek, GA location. The role involves providing nursing care to stable patients, assisting with anesthesia, and educating clients about their pets' conditions and care. Responsibilities Set up constant rate infusions (CRI) Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc) Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia Set up for MRI and CT procedures Discharge neuro patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as manual bladder expression, sling walking, range of motion, etc..Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values Perform call backs and refill medications Client education, gathering histories and communicating that to the Clinician Perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort Understand normal vital parameters Comfortable with IVC placement and venipuncture Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors Restrain patients during consults and during diagnostics Skills Strong knowledge base in veterinary practices Motivation to learn Ambition to work in a fast-paced team environment Comfortable with IVC placement and venipuncture Ability to perform physical exams and understand normal vital parameters Ability to calculate all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc) Experience in inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia Ability to set up for MRI and CT procedures Ability to discharge neuro patients from the hospital with basic client education Ability to perform call backs and refill medications Ability to gather histories and communicate with the clinician Ability to restrain patients during consults and diagnostics Ability to operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors Benefits Trupanion pet insurance and discounts to our associates for pet treatments, procedures, and food.
