Licensed Pharmacy Technician – Prior Authorization (163826)

A-Line is hiring Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technicians! This is Full-Time 40 hours per week. • The Tech must be comfortable with working ANY 8.5 hour shift between 11am-11pm after the training* Schedule: • Regular: Mon–Fri, 11:00 AM–11:00 PM CST (8.5-hour shift + 30-min lunch) • Training: Mon–Fri, 10:00 AM–6:30 PM CST for approximately 5 weeks Pay Rate: $20 per hour Preferred Location: West Coast candidates preferred due to late shift coverage needs. Work Environment: Fully remote (must meet workspace and technical requirements described below). Position Summary The Tech I Prior Authorization role is responsible for receiving high-volume inbound calls from providers, pharmacies, and members; delivering professional, courteous assistance; and processing prior authorization requests using established criteria. The technician documents reviews accurately and promptly while routing all clinical questions, escalations, or judgment-based decisions to the pharmacist team. Additional responsibilities include: • Outbound calls as needed • Reviewing and processing faxed and ePA prior authorizations • Monitoring and responding to department mailboxes • Supporting additional tasks assigned by leadership Required Qualifications & Licensures: • 2 years of high-volume call center experience - Experience with a health plan, PBM, or prior authorization experience strongly preferred! • Pharmacy Tech License OR National Certification is Required • 1-2 years experience as a pharmacy technician in an administrative support function. (Not just retail) • Familiarity with medical terminology and coding. Skills • Advanced computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet use. • Excellent verbal and written customer service skills. • Ability to sit, focus, and work uninterrupted for the full shift. Important Work Requirements (Candidate Must Acknowledge & Understand): • This remote role requires a HIPAA-compliant workspace free from noise and distractions. • Candidate cannot be the primary caregiver for anyone during scheduled work hours. • Must have wired internet connection with at least 25 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload (screenshot required). • Must have the ability to work all scheduled training hours without conflicts.
