Learning Strategist - 100% Virtual

We are working with our client in locating an experienced Learning Strategy Consultant to assess and consolidate its online programs, which are currently spread across different colleges, into a unified system. The consultant will evaluate the current state of the programs, salvage existing work where possible, propose strategies to address organizational challenges, and provide recommendations for restructuring and rebuilding courses as needed. Expertise in Learning Management Systems (LMS), particularly Canvas, is essential, along with the ability to address complex stakeholder dynamics effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct a comprehensive assessment of existing online programs, identifying gaps, redundancies, and salvageable assets.
• Develop a detailed proposal outlining a consolidation strategy, including a phased approach, budget estimates, and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to align objectives, clarify roles, and address the “cooks in the kitchen” issue through effective communication and decision-making frameworks.
• Analyze the suitability of current courses for consolidation; recommend and oversee restructuring or rebuilding efforts as needed.
• Provide actionable recommendations for streamlining course design, leveraging the capabilities of Canvas, and ensuring consistency and scalability across all programs.
• Facilitate workshops or discussions with stakeholders to achieve buy-in and resolve conflicting priorities.
• Deliver a final report summarizing findings, strategies, and a proposed implementation roadmap.

Required Skills and Experience:
• Expert Learning Strategist: Proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale online learning initiatives, with a focus on program consolidation and optimization.
• Proposal Development Expertise: Ability to create comprehensive assessment frameworks and detailed proposals for solutions, including cost analysis and operational plans.
• Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills to address organizational dynamics and achieve consensus among diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Canvas LMS, including course design, migration, and administration.
• Familiarity with higher education environments and academic program development.
• Certification in project management or change management (e.g., PMP, CCMP).

Deliverables:
• Consolidation assessment report.
• Proposal for restructuring and consolidation strategy, including budget and timeline.
• Recommendations for addressing stakeholder collaboration and governance challenges.

The pay range will be determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, relevant education, certifications and specific work location.
