The Learning & Development Specialist will support the delivery and coordination of employee learning programs, facilitating onboarding and training to enhance operational effectiveness and professional development across the organization.ResponsibilitiesFacilitate new employee onboarding and refresher training programs in collaboration with the Senior Learning & Development Specialist, alternating responsibility for onboarding cohortsCoordinate the two-week onboarding training schedule and provide training summaries to managers upon completion of initial new employee trainingFacilitate the credit union’s annual IRA training program and support related training updates as regulations or operational practices changeMaintain onboarding training materials and develop practice transactions in the training environment to support hands-on employee learningMonitor trainee progress through assessments, observation, and feedback from supervisors, and provide input on training effectivenessDevelop and maintain training materials and learning content, including job aids, e-learning modules, visual resources, training exercises, and assessmentsDevelop engaging and interactive content that supports effective employee learning and knowledge retentionUtilize learning platforms such as PowerPoint, iSpring, BAI, and AI-supported training tools to create, update, and maintain online training contentMaintain and update the Central Point training page and other internal training resources to ensure employees have access to current informationMaintain and update learning & development (L&D) department procedure documentation and training materialsCoordinate and support employee L&D programs that align with the credit union’s objectivesAssign and track onboarding and required learning courses for new employees and maintain accurate completion recordsSupport administrative aspects of L&D, including scheduling sessions, maintaining records, and assisting with departmental initiatives related to new systems, products, or process changesCoordinate monthly CUSO Awareness sessions, including distribution and review of participant feedbackParticipate in quarterly L&D strategy meetings and contribute insights on program effectiveness, organizational learning needs, and development opportunities identified through department feedbackPerform additional duties as assigned in support of the department’s task calendarStay current on job-related equipment, procedures, and information by reviewing materials, attending meetings and seminars, and participating in professional development opportunitiesAdhere to all applicable Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulationsMaintain community involvement and participate in special projects as neededPerform other duties as requested or assignedSkillsA two-year college degree or completion of a specialized certification or licensing1 to 3 years in a role as a trainer within a financial institution or equivalentProficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and SharePointAbility to develop and maintain learning materials and contentAbility to facilitate engaging learning sessions and adapt delivery methods to different learning stylesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and maintain detailed recordsAbility to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work independently and collaborativelyResourcefulness and initiativeStrong organizational skillsAttention to detailProfessionalism and ability to maintain confidentialityCompany OverviewCooperative Credit Union Association is a nonprofit organization that provides legislative, regulatory, and consumer advisory services.
