Lead UI/UX Design

We are looking for a Lead UI/UX Design Engineer to drive the visual and interactive direction of a complex, multi-application platform—bridging design thinking and frontend engineering. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of UX, UI systems, and technical implementation, and enjoys mentoring others while shaping scalable design systems. What You'll Do • Lead the development and evolution of a design system and component library based on modern UI frameworks • Design and implement reusable UI components that balance usability, aesthetics, and technical requirements • Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to translate user needs into effective design solutions • Implement responsive and accessible interfaces across multiple applications • Define and enforce design standards, patterns, and best practices • Review UI implementations to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with design specifications • Lead user research and usability testing to validate design decisions • Mentor junior designers and design engineers, providing technical and career guidance • Document component usage, variants, and implementation guidelines for engineering teams • Stay up to date with UX trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve the design system What You'll Bring • 5+ years of experience in UI/UX Design Engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or mentoring role • Proven experience building and maintaining design systems and component libraries • Deep understanding of component-based UI frameworks (Mantine or similar) • Strong portfolio demonstrating UI/UX design skills and component implementation • Experience using design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar • Solid knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices • Experience conducting user research and usability testing • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal • Comfortable working in Mac or Linux environments • Availability to collaborate synchronously during core hours (EST) Nice to Have • Experience with data-intensive or analytics-heavy interfaces • Familiarity with data visualization techniques and libraries • Experience designing complex forms and validation flows Why Join EX Squared? • Be part of a multicultural, LATAM-based team • Play a key role in shaping the user experience of a growing platform • Work closely with product and engineering leaders • Culture that values design thinking, collaboration, and continuous improvement What We Offer • Salary in USD • 100% remote work (LATAM) • Flexible schedule within core collaboration hours • Learning and professional development programs • Inclusive, people-first culture • Opportunities to grow into broader design or leadership paths Ready to become an EXpert?
