Legacy Engineering, P.C., is a small, woman-owned civil engineering firm specializing in land development design, geotechnical services, construction materials testing and inspections along with surveying and consulting. Job Summary:
As a Lead Project Civil Engineer at Legacy Engineering, you will be responsible for contributing to the design and management of various land development engineering projects. You will work on site, subdivision, and infrastructure plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards and requirements. Responsible for coaching and mentoring Project Engineers and Engineering Technicians on your assigned team.
Responsibilities:
- Create CAD drawings for site, subdivision, and infrastructure plans
- Assist in the preparation of full sets of construction plans
- Design horizontal and vertical roadway layouts
- Prepare erosion and sediment control plans
- Generate SWM/BMP facilities hydrologic computations
- Conduct pavement design computations
- Perform site distance analysis
- Manage site and house grading
- Analyze waterline systems
- Complete SWM plans and design BMP facilities
- Estimate site work quantities and costs
- Prepare planning/zoning exhibits & plans
- Design landscape layouts
- Develop traffic control designs
- Utilize engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil3D, Hydraflow, Storm and Sanitary Analysis, WaterCAD, etc.
- Conduct quality control reviews of plans
- Coordinate with team members as needed
- Manage project deadlines and communicate progress effectively
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in land development engineering projects
- Basic understanding of civil engineering concepts and locality requirements
- GIS experience is preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D, Hydraflow, Storm and Sanitary Analysis, WaterCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite is advantageous
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- EIT certification is required; willingness to pursue further certifications
