Lead - Integrations Architecture
Overview:
The Lead Integrations Architect is responsible for designing, building, and governing scalable, secure, and reliable system integrations across enterprise applications, platforms, and external partners. This role bridges business requirements and technical implementation, ensuring data flows seamlessly across systems using modern integration patterns and technologies. This role specializes in Legal Technology integrations, connecting Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), Enterprise Legal Management (ELM), eBilling, matter management, document management, compliance and specialist AI platforms with enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, finance, identity, and data tools.
Responsibilities:
Lead technical discovery workshops and architecture discussions with clients and internal stakeholdersDesign end-to-end integration architectures across on-premise and cloud systemsTranslate business requirements into scalable, secure, and well documented technical designsDefine integration standards, patterns, and best practices (API-led, event-driven, batch, real-time)Lead the design and implementation of APIs, middleware, and integration platformsEstablish error handling, monitoring, logging, and alerting strategiesProvide technical leadership and mentorship to integration developersReview solution designs and perform architecture assuranceSupport data governance, compliance, and regulatory requirementsTroubleshoot complex integration issues and lead root-cause analysisCollaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams to translate requirements into integration solutionsEvaluate and select integration technologies, tools, and vendorsEnsure integrations meet performance, scalability, reliability, and security requirementsGovern API lifecycle management, versioning, and documentation
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of experience in systems integration or enterprise architectureProven experience leading technical workshops in enterprise environmentsStrong hands-on experience in Java & PythonDeep understanding of APIs (ReST, SOAP, GraphQL), messaging, and event streamingExperience with data formats and protocols (i.e JSON, XML, HTTP, AMQP, Kafka)Solid understanding of security concepts (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, TLS, API security)Strong experience with range of iPaaS / integration platforms and middlewareExperience producing formal technical design documentationAble to work US hours where required on an ad hoc basis to support project delivery Desirable Experience Design and implement integrations with CLM systems, ELM / Matter management and/or eSignature platformsIntegrations with ERP and finance systems (i.e SAP, Oracle, Workday, NetSuite)Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (i.e AWS, Azure, GCP)Experience in the legal technology spaceTOGAF or similar architecture certification
