Overall Purpose: We are seeking a dynamic External Affairs professional to join our team and lead efforts to advance AT&T’s government relations, business, and community engagement strategies. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills to represent the company’s interests with legislative and public sector entities, community organizations, and internal business units.

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Stakeholder and Community Engagement: Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, community groups, and third-party coalitions. Representing the company on local boards and commissions and acting as the face of the corporation in served communities.
• Event Coordination and Community Relations: Organizing and managing community events to bridge relationships between the community and elected officials. Promoting the company’s initiatives and addressing constituent concerns.
• Policy and Legislative Engagement: Working in coordination with the Legislative team to promote industry friendly policies during public hearings and meetings with elected stakeholders.
• Other duties as assigned: Supporting processes related to Political Action Committee (PAC) activity, internal collaboration, strategy development, negotiations, addressing constituent concerns, grant and corporate sponsorship management.

Job Contribution: An experienced professional, recognized as an expert, creatively resolving complex issues with broad and in-depth knowledge. Leads significant projects with strategic autonomy, influencing executive decisions. Mentors less experienced staff, implements long-term plans impacting the organization, and frequently collaborates with senior leadership.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired. 5+ years of related experience. Certification is required in some areas.

Our Lead External Affairs earns between $116,700 - $175,100 USD Annual. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
