Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Lead Data Operations Analyst to oversee production support activities for our suite of data analysis products used to support internal banking operations. In this role, you will serve as a key contributor in identifying and triaging production incidents affecting our client data analysis platform. You will leverage your strong understanding of big data lake environments to collaborate with various technology teams, investigate platform and data quality issues, and remediate problems before they impact our products and services.

This position offers the opportunity to take on meaningful projects that enhance our production support capabilities, including implementing new monitoring tools, establishing new operational procedures, and preparing for the release of new products. You will lead research initiatives, prepare comprehensive reports on production issues, and present findings to internal stakeholders. Additionally, you will mentor peers, champion continuous improvement, and drive the development of new process optimizations and platform enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

Production Support and Incident Management

Lead production support activities for a portfolio of data analysis products that power internal bank operations and decision-making processes
Serve as a key member in the identification and triage of production incidents impacting our client data analysis platform, ensuring rapid response and resolution
Analyze complex technical challenges within big data environments requiring in-depth assessment and strategic problem-solving approaches
Lead research initiatives and create detailed reports related to ongoing production issues, presenting findings and recommendations to internal partners and leadership
Coordinate with offshore teams to ensure seamless communication and accurate reporting of delivery status, maintaining alignment between inland and offshore operations


Process Enhancement and Innovation

Lead the development of new operational processes and platform enhancements to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability
Champion continuous improvement by identifying new strategies, methodologies, and opportunities for operational excellence
Contribute to the establishment of performance standards for the team, ensuring operations achieve or exceed established performance metrics
Design and implement new monitoring tools and dashboards to proactively identify potential issues before they affect production systems
Establish new operating procedures and documentation standards to ensure consistency and knowledge transfer across the team


Team Leadership and Collaboration

Lead teams to meet deadlines and drive new initiatives forward, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
Direct the daily Risk and Control workflow, focusing on policies, procedures, and work standards to ensure successful outcomes
Re-engineer and drive continuous support improvement initiatives across the organization
Review, approve, and implement recommended changes to plans and operational strategies
Collaborate and consult with team members to resolve complex initiatives and achieve technology mandates
Act as a mentor and advisor to peers, sharing expertise and fostering professional development


Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
Minimum of 3+ years of analysis experience, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail


Technical Skills

Solid understanding of big data lake environments and architectures
Experience with data quality assessment and remediation methodologies
Proficiency in identifying and resolving platform and data quality issues
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders


Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Technical Experience

3+ years of experience supporting big data environments in production settings
3+ years of experience delivering ETL, data warehouse, and data analysis capabilities on big data architectures such as Hadoop
Experience with distributed computing frameworks and large-scale data processing systems
Strong familiarity with data pipeline design, optimization, and monitoring


Tool and Technology Proficiency

Proficiency in using HIVE for data querying and analysis
Experience with data analysis tools such as Panda (Python pandas) for data manipulation and analysis
Knowledge of job scheduling tools like Autosys for workflow automation
Familiarity with monitoring and visualization tools such as Grafana and Splunk
Experience supporting real-time data streaming technologies such as Kafka
Knowledge of NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB


Industry Knowledge

Previous experience in financial services or banking industry is highly desirable
Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the financial sector
Knowledge of risk and control frameworks within banking operations
