Lead Application Architect (.NET) - $85 CTC - REMOTE (Within the state of Wisconsin)

Location Requirement: Onsite or Remote? Candidates be Wisconsin residents in the Madison (or surrounding communities) area or willing to relocate to Wisconsin at their own expense prior to starting the role. This position will be working mostly remote (from within the state of Wisconsin) but the selected hire could be called onsite in Madison as needed.
This is a technical leadership position needed to drive the development and support of the IRIS 2.0
modernization project, a full replacement of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation's case management
system. Candidates will play an integral role on self directed project teams working on this high priority
development project.
Project work will include: application architecture design and development, integration with 3rd party
internal and external systems, database technology migration from Oracle to Azure SQL and data
conversion, building and maintaing cloud computing environments, and analysis of legacy code and
logical requirements.
Successful candidates will have demonstrated success in designing, creating, and maintaining web
services, system integrations, web development, and highly complex online transaction processing
(OLTP).
Required Skills:
Ā 5+ years' experience as the lead architect in modernization or re-write from a legacy system to a modern replacement, including modernization of technology, as well as working with a cross-functional team to redesign and simplify UX and workflows to meet modern application design standards, using a material design library and component framework, such as MudBlazor
Ā 2+ years' experience as a .NET expert, with extensive experience using ASP.NET Core v6-8
Ā 2+ years' experience in Azure SQL cloud database solution
Ā 2+ years' experience with GitHub distributed version control and using GitHub actions to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines
Desired Skills:
Ā Experience working in an Agile software development environment
Ā Experience using Oracle database technology, Control-M batch jobs
Ā Experience using Linq or Entity Framework
Ā Previous experience providing this service for government is a plus, and experience with DWD's environments will be especially valuable
