Job Summary As a Freelance Law Enforcement and Legal Transcriber with Workwarp, you will be responsible for transcribing verbatim, multi-speaker, legal and investigative interviews, as well as other law enforcement recordings such as Body Worn Camera recordings, 911 calls, and interrogations. You will work independently as a freelancer, using your skills and experience to deliver high-quality transcriptions that meet the needs of our clients. Key Responsibilities Transcribe law enforcement and legal audio recordings with accuracy and attention to detail, including verbatim, multi-speaker interviews and other recordings. Edit transcriptions to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to guidelines, including formatting and citation requirements. Proofread documents for errors and inconsistencies, ensuring that all transcriptions meet the highest standards of quality. Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style for formatting and citation requirements, as well as verbatim formatting and account style guides. Meet productivity requirements , including transcribing a minimum of 60 minutes of audio per day. Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of experience in legal or law enforcement transcription and/or editing. 70 WPM or higher typing speed. High accuracy rate and attention to detail. Law enforcement or legal experience required. Ability to transcribe a minimum of 60 minutes of audio per day. Preferred Qualifications: Active AAERT Certification (American Association of Electronic Reporters and Transcribers). Experience with editing voice recognition files. Familiarity with transcription software and equipment, including foot pedals and transcription software. Equipment Requirements PC with Windows 10 or later . USB transcription foot pedal . Wired internet connection (not WiFi). What We Offer Compensation: Our compensation rates range from $15.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on experience and productivity. Pay is based on production, with opportunities to increase earnings through high-quality work and meeting productivity requirements.
