FULL JOB DESCRIPTION:
@Southwest Louisiana Independence Center (@SLIC) is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Worker (DSW) to provide care Monday through Saturday (8:00am to 7:00pm), for a disabled female, in the Sulphur area. The candidate must have a valid driver’s license, dependable vehicle with up-to-date auto registration/insurance/inspection, to transport the consumer to community outings and appointments. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in an environment with pets, as the consumer has animals.
The Direct Support Professional is responsible for the physical care of our clients who may no longer be able to take care of themselves due to age, illness, injury, surgery, or disability. The ideal candidate must be able to care for our clients and their property with dignity, patience, compassion, and respect.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Must have dependable vehicle with current up-to-date Auto Insurance/Registration/Inspection Sticker
• Working Cell Phone with Data Plan (Must be able to download REQUIRED two apps)
• Must be able to complete a Criminal Background report
• Commitment to excellent client care
• Must have Patience, Compassion, Positive Attitude, and be a Team Player
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Light Housekeeping
• Assist with Cooking
• Assist with bathing / dressing
• Assist with Shopping
• Meal Prep
• Safely Transport to appointments
• Safely Transport to community events
