About the position

The K-12 Health and Physical Education Instructor at Brandywine Virtual Academy is responsible for teaching health and physical education to students in grades K-8, with potential instruction for high school courses. Responsibilities
• Instruct individuals and groups in health and physical education.

• Provide specially designed instruction for eligible special education students.

• Plan curriculum and lessons for health and physical education.

• Evaluate and monitor student progress based on performance, test scores, and observation of behavior.

• Support objectives and interventions of the educational program.
,
• Maintain contact with parents and professionals concerning student progress.
,
• Develop IEPs addressing specific academic, behavioral, and speech needs of students when appropriate.
,
• Prepare report cards, educational records, classroom observation records, and other documentation as required.

Requirements
• Minimum of a bachelor level degree in education required.

• PA teaching certification in Health and Physical Education required; Special Education Certification preferred.

• Minimum 2 years experience teaching students in an online environment preferred.

• Technology experience preferred.
,
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
,
• Current within one year FBI, PA State and Child Abuse Clearances.
