Junior Software QA Engineer

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Junior Software QA Engineer. The role involves supporting Systems Engineering & Integration activities for space communication systems, collaborating with various stakeholders, and ensuring software quality through testing and analysis.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and test software prototypes and/or applications as part of a multi-disciplinary teamCollaborate across infrastructure, development, and QA teamsWork closely with software developers and other stakeholders to understand software requirements and specificationsMaintain automated testing suites, detailed test plans, test cases, test scripts, test reports, and other documentationIdentify software defects and issues, communicate defect reports, and provide detailed information on defect occurrencesPerform root cause analysis of defects and implement corrective actionsConduct performance testing through load testing, stress testing, and scalability testing to ensure that applications can handle expected user loads without compromising speed or stabilityWork with complex algorithms to deliver optimized solutions for the end userSkillsSecurity Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance is required for this positionExperience and Education: BS degree in Computer Science or Information Systems; other degrees will be considered with relevant work experience1-3 years of software development, including object-oriented design, coding, and/or testing, with a focus on QA methodologies, tools, and processesSolid understanding of test development and test executionWorking knowledge of performance testing, security testing, and usability testingPractical experience in one or more of the following: Python, Java, or GoWorking knowledge of automated testing tools like Selenium or CypressExcellent problem-solving skillsStrong passion for conducting research, tackling complex problems, and continuously learning and adopting new technologiesOrganization capability with ability to handle competing prioritiesStrong interpersonal skills, communication (oral and written), and presentation skillsFamiliarity with web applications and microservices architectureFamiliarity with database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and othersKnowledge and experience in Jira and ConfluenceExperience in implementing Agile Software Development methodologies for efficient and iterative project managementProficient in using GitLab or other Tools for version control, CI/CD pipelines, and collaborationBenefitsMTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.Company OverviewModern Technology Solutions, Inc.
