Junior Social Media Content Creator (Part-Time)
RAW Detroit is hiring a Junior Social Media Content Creator to join our team starting in July. If you love Detroit, live and breathe social media, and want to help grow one of the city’s most-followed media brands, this could be the perfect role for you.
About the Role:
You’ll be responsible for creating engaging, original content for Instagram, TikTok, Meta, and YouTube Shorts. We’re looking for someone with an eye for trends, a creative mindset, and the technical skill to edit videos using professional tools. You’ll work alongside our team to pitch ideas, film, and edit social-first content that highlights Detroit’s people, places, and energy.
What You’ll Do:
• Produce and edit short-form video content for social (Reels, TikToks, Shorts)
• Shoot content around Detroit (events, venues, neighborhoods, etc.)
• Collaborate on creative ideas and weekly content planning
• Edit using Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro
• Meet in-person 1–2 times a week for planning and shoots
• Understand social media trends, hooks, timing, and engagement strategies
Who We’re Looking For:
• You’re based in Metro Detroit and available to meet up weekly
• You’ve worked on social content for brands, businesses, or creators
• You’re confident editing with Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro
• You understand what performs well on platforms like Instagram and TikTok
• You’re comfortable filming in public and interacting with people on the spot
• You’re organized, creative, and take initiative without needing hand-holding
Schedule & Pay:
Training Period (First 2-3 Weeks):
• $15/hour
• 25 hours/week
• Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 2 PM
After Training:
• $120 per video project
• Paid per project, workload flexible based on content needs
Bonus If You Have:
• Photography or basic graphic design experience
• A strong personal TikTok or Instagram with creative examples
• Reside within Detroit, MI
