Junior SAP Order Management Engineer

• *NO 3rd Party vendor candidates or sponsorship** Role Title: Junior OM Engineer Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire Duration: 6 month CTH Preferred Location: Prefer local to Chicago, but open to remote with travel Role Description: We are seeking a Junior Order Management (OM) Consultant to support a highly customized SAP-based order management ecosystem. This role is ideal for someone early in their SAP career who is eager to learn, can work through complex problems, and wants exposure to a large-scale enterprise order-to-cash environment. The team supports 24+ active initiatives and a heavily integrated application ecosystem. This position will contribute to both day-to-day support and ongoing enhancements as the organization prepares for a brownfield migration to SAP S/4HANA and works toward a "clean core" environment. Key Responsibilities • Support and troubleshoot issues within the Order Management (OM) space, including order processing and downstream impacts. • Assist with analysis of changes impacting: • Expected delivery dates • Order routing logic • Sourcing/fulfillment behavior and order outcomes • Work within a highly customized SAP environment (not standard "out of the box" SAP). • Partner with senior developers and business stakeholders to understand end-to-end process flows across the order lifecycle. • Contribute to documentation and onboarding materials, including: • Runbooks • Process diagrams and system flows • Support guides and knowledge articles • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to reduce recurring issues and improve system stability. • Support initiatives tied to ECC cleanup and preparation for S/4HANA brownfield migration. Requirements: Required Qualifications • 1-3 years of experience in SAP-related support, development, or functional consulting (internships/co-ops may be considered if highly relevant). • Exposure to SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA environments. • Interest in (or early experience supporting) Order Management / Order-to-Cash processes. • Strong troubleshooting mindset and willingness to ask questions, dig into details, and learn quickly. • Ability to communicate clearly and provide real examples of work performed (even if small in scope). Preferred Qualifications • Exposure to SAP ABAP concepts (debugging, reading code, working with developers, basic enhancements). • Familiarity with SAP transactions and how to navigate SAP to investigate issues. • Experience working with cross-functional teams that touch supply chain, transportation, customer service, finance, or billing.
