Junior Medical Coder – Remote Role for Fresh Graduates

Job Summary

The Elite Job is seeking detail-oriented and driven Junior Medical Coders to join our growing healthcare documentation team. This is a remote opportunity ideally suited for recent graduates or individuals looking to launch a career in the medical coding and health information management field. As a Junior Medical Coder, you will be responsible for reviewing clinical documents and assigning standardized medical codes that support billing, compliance, and statistical reporting.
Key Responsibilities

Review and analyze patient medical records and clinical documentation.

Assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on provider documentation and coding guidelines.

Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of coded information.

Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to clarify inconsistencies in documentation.

Adhere to HIPAA and regulatory compliance requirements.

Support the billing department in ensuring clean claim submission.

Participate in training sessions and ongoing learning to stay updated with coding changes and best practices.
• Required Skills and Qualifications

Basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

Familiarity with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II coding systems (training will be provided).

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Computer proficiency including MS Office and cloud-based platforms.

No prior experience required.

Fresh graduates in Life Sciences, Health Information Management, Nursing, Pharmacy, or Allied Health are encouraged to apply.

Internship or certification in Medical Coding (AAPC/CPC or equivalent) is a plus but not mandatory.
