Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Data Scientist to join our team at Amazon. As a Junior Data Scientist, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and impactful projects, gaining hands-on experience in data science and analysis while receiving exceptional mentorship and guidance. This part-time role offers a competitive salary of $24/hour and the potential for full-time employment upon successful completion of the program.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop pipelines for reports, analyze large-scale data, and leverage data in machine learning, advanced analytics, statistics, reporting, and scientific tooling/languages like SQL, Excel, and others
Analyze complex data sets, identify and solve real-world problems, and build metrics and business cases around key performance indicators
Utilize a customer-obsessed approach to determine insights and identify opportunities to improve the customer experience and conversion for the program


Requirements:

Currently enrolled in an accredited university Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related STEM discipline
Ability to work part-time during the school year (16 hours/week) and full-time during the summer (40 hours/week)
Living within commutable distance to San Diego, CA


Preferred Qualifications:

Prior technical internship experience
Ability to effectively communicate technical challenges and solutions
Skilled at handling ambiguous or unclear problems and able to think conceptually
