Jumbo/Non-QM Underwriter - Remote
Position Overview:
Benchmark recognizes the changing regulations that accompany the loan process and holds innovation and adaptability as critical characteristics for our Underwriters. The Jumbo Underwriter is responsible for reviewing and underwriting Jumbo and Non QM mortgage loan applications and property appraisals and evaluating the loans to minimize risk or loss within regulatory... guidelines.
Ideal candidates for this position will be experienced underwriting Jumbo and Non QM loans, highly detail-oriented, and familiar with loan program guidelines.
Essential Functions of the Role:
Analyze and underwrite Jumbo and Non QM mortgage loans within compliance guidelines and approved seller variances.
Manage loan conditions and provide recommendations for underwriting waiver and eligibility exceptions.
Communicate with loan originators and processors regarding loan status, approvals, suspensions, denials, and conditions.
Maintain a pipeline of loans adhering to posted service level agreements.
Remain current on loan program requirements and review documents for compliance.
Other duties as assigned.

Understanding of Government Loan Programs
Experience Requirements:
Five years mortgage underwriting experience required.
Three years of underwriting Jumbo and Non QM loans with complex income analysis required.
National bond program experience preferred.
Education/Licensing Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred.
Working Conditions:
Fast-paced environment.
Requires normal vision (corrected) both close and distant.
Requires normal hearing levels (corrected).
Requires working at a desk to use a phone and computer for extended periods of time.
Requires sitting, bending.
Works effectively with frequent interruptions.
Lifting requirements of 10 lbs. occasionally.
