7Drive is 7-Eleven’s delivery division and we’re on a mission to bring on-demand delivery to cities and towns throughout the United States. We serve our communities by connecting our network of drivers to restaurants, retailers, and grocers.
Overview:
As a Junior Cloud Network Engineer, you will assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based network infrastructures. You will work under the guidance of senior network engineers to ensure that cloud resources are provisioned, managed, and maintained efficiently and securely. This role involves collaboration with IT teams to optimize network performance, troubleshoot issues, and support the organization's cloud strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Network Infrastructure Design and Implementation: Assist in designing and implementing network infrastructure within cloud environments, including virtual private networks (VPNs), routing, and switching. Support the development of cloud network solutions in collaboration with other IT teams.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
Monitor network performance to diagnose and resolve issues promptly.
Participate in network maintenance activities, ensuring systems meet performance and reliability standards.
• Security and Compliance:
Implement and maintain security measures to protect cloud networks.
Work with IT security teams to adhere to compliance standards.
• Automation and Optimization:
Help develop automation scripts to manage network configurations and deployments. Optimize cloud resources for cost-efficiency and performance.
• Collaboration:
Work closely with developers, operations, and security teams to align network infrastructure with organizational needs. Provide technical support to internal teams and possibly external clients.
• Learning and Development:
Engage in continuous learning to keep up with the latest in cloud and networking technologies. Participate in training sessions and learn from senior engineers.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field or 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience:
Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DNS, VPN, etc.). Some experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is highly desirable. Familiarity with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software.
• Skills:
Knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices. Understanding of network protocol analyzers for monitoring and troubleshooting. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Certifications (preferred but not mandatory):
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, or equivalent.
