Provide professional social work assessments and evaluations as outlined in IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) Identify, coordinate and make referrals to community resources for students, families and school programs Provide individual and group counseling with students when appropriate to do so in an educational setting and as time permits Maintain social work records; coordinate and document transfer of due process and social work records This job description intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by employees assigned to this position and is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS: Letters of application Recommendations and/or references Ability to work as a team member, previous experience with elementary children, and a behavioral specialist background are preferred Applicants must hold a Master of Social Work Degree and valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Social Worker endorsement. The ability to speak a foreign language is preferred. Past experience servicing the specific area will be considered first. If no previous teaching experience in the specific area, recent coursework or student teaching in the subject will be considered.
