Essential functions (job duties): We invite applications for a Public Health/Health Equity scholar to be appointed as a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health beginning in August 2024. We seek an active and engaged colleague with demonstrated research, teaching, and service interests in PROMOTING HEALTH EQUITY and ELIMINATING HEALTH DISPARITIES AND SOCIAL INEQUALITIES. Topical areas of interest may include but are not limited to: gun violence and crime; neighborhood and built environment impacts; chronic disease; forced migration; food and housing insecurity; substance use, addiction, and recovery; disability; COVID-19, HIV/AIDS, or other infectious diseases; trauma and mental health; and health care access and delivery. Teach two courses per semester. Supervise undergraduate and graduate students. for external funding. Conduct research leading to publications. Participate in service activities including departmental, college, and university committees. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Candidates must possess a PhD, DrPH, or equivalent doctoral degree in a public health-aligned discipline; or must have their degree conferred by August 15, 2024, for a position starting with the Fall 2024 semester.
