We are seeking a licensed and detail-oriented Home Inspector to join our team in Los Angeles, California. The ideal candidate will meet California's requirements for home inspectors, including compliance with state standards for reporting and inspection practices, and have a strong understanding of California-specific construction practices and safety standards. This role requires the ability to provide clients with comprehensive reports on the condition of their homes. As a Home Inspector, you will play a crucial role in helping clients make informed decisions about their properties.

Responsibilities
• Conduct thorough inspections of residential properties, evaluating their condition in compliance with California safety standards and industry best practices.
• Analyze findings and compile detailed reports outlining any issues, necessary repairs, or potential safety hazards.
• Inspect various aspects of the home, including structural integrity, plumbing, electrical systems, roofing, HVAC, and overall safety, ensuring compliance with California regulations.
• Perform quality control checks to ensure compliance with California building standards and codes.
• Utilize knowledge of construction practices and California-specific building codes to assess the quality of materials and workmanship.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to understand building layouts and systems.
• Communicate findings effectively with clients, providing guidance on necessary actions or repairs and adhering to California standards for reporting.
• Stay updated on California regulations, building codes, and industry guidelines through ongoing professional development.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections and reports for legal and compliance purposes.

Experience & Qualifications
• Proven experience in home inspection or related fields such as construction management, quality inspection, or real estate.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify potential issues specific to California residential properties.
• Familiarity with California Civil Code Section 7195, which governs home inspection practices in the state.
• Knowledge of quality control processes, construction inspection techniques, and California-specific building codes.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills to clearly convey complex information to clients, with a focus on compliance with California home inspection standards.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development in home inspection, in line with industry requirements.

Additional Information for California
• California does not have a formal state licensing requirement for home inspectors, but inspectors must comply with California Civil Code Section 7195-7199. This law sets standards for home inspection reports and prohibits unethical practices such as performing repairs on inspected properties.
• While no license is required, professional certifications from organizations like InterNACHI or ASHI are highly recommended and often expected by clients.
• Strong knowledge of Los Angeles-specific housing styles and seismic safety considerations is advantageous.
• Liability insurance is strongly recommended to protect against potential claims.
