Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Programs include various indoor and outdoor hands-on academic and enrichment activities including but not limited to Dance, Chess, Robotics, Gardening, Math Camp, and Sports. Program hours for elementary campuses are 3:00 - 6:00 PM and program hours for secondary campuses are 4:00 - 7:00 PM. Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or regional accrediting agency) Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Professional Growth and Development The instructor provides leadership in professional growth and development through activities such as the following: Attend all trainings as assigned; become an integral and contributing member of the afterschool team. Follow the guidelines set forth by campus and district. Qualities of an Effective Afterschool Instructor The instructor exhibits the following qualities: Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job. Comply with District policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations. Comply with the standards of conduct set out in Board Policy DH (Legal) and (Local) and with any other policies, regulations, and guidelines that impose duties, requirements, and standards. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Equipment: Personal computer, printer, calculator, telephone, copier, fax machine, and shredder. Working Conditions: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Work with frequent interruption and maintain emotional control under stress.
