We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our team in a part-time, 3rd shift role at Melrose Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA. Job Overview and Responsibilities In this critical role, you will be the face of our company, providing exceptional customer service to patients, performing skilled specimen collections, and ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital-based phlebotomy services. Your responsibilities will include: Performing blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times. Collecting specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other medical procedures as required. Accurately and efficiently performing data entry of patient information, maintaining patient and specimen information logs, and processing billing information and collecting payments when necessary. Preparing all collected specimens for testing and analysis, adhering to strict quality control and safety protocols. Providing superior customer service to all patients, addressing their concerns, and ensuring a positive experience. Performing administrative and clerical duties as necessary, including travel to additional sites when needed. Work Schedule and Location The successful candidate will work a varying schedule, including 3 shifts per week, Monday to Friday, from 10:30 pm to 7:00 am or 11:00 pm to 7:30 am, depending on hospital needs, and rotating weekends. The work location is Melrose Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA. Required Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must: Have a high school diploma or equivalent. Hold phlebotomy certification or have completed a training program from an accredited agency, or have previous experience as a phlebotomist. Be able to pass a standardized color blindness test. Be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, subject to applicable law, and provide proof of vaccination or qualify for medical or religious accommodations. Preferred Qualifications Previous Labcorp experience is preferred, but not essential.
