This remote position is required to work 20-40 hours per week, mid-October through mid-March, to support the Undergraduate Admissions staff through the application evaluation... process. Seasonal readers will go through a thorough training process, led by our admissions staff. After completing training, Application Readers will support the initial review for first year applicants for both domestic and international students. Specific Duties & Responsibilities • Perform comprehensive evaluation of applicant information including academic criteria, activities, essays, recommendations, and additional materials, while taking a student’s context into consideration. • Support preparation of files for the transfer review process. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities • Knowledge and familiarity with high school transcripts and curricula, both domestic and international is preferred. • Strong analytical and reading skills. • Work well independently and ask questions when necessary. • Excellent time management and organizational skills. • Ability to meet strict deadlines, including weekly numerical targets for files read. • Demonstrate utmost level of confidentiality and professionalism regarding Johns Hopkins University application review process and applicant information. Additional Requirements • Must have a private computer and space to conduct file review, along with reliable internet. • Current CBO, independent, school, or admissions counselors are NOT eligible to apply due to potential conflict of interest, also, cannot have a child currently applying to college. Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in secondary schools or higher education.
