We're seeking a highly skilled and innovative Input Device System Design Engineer to join our team at Apple, where you'll play a crucial role in designing and developing the next generation of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) hardware. As a key member of our Input Devices group, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create revolutionary products that seamlessly integrate technology and human interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and ship cutting-edge HCI hardware, including mice, trackpads, keyboards, remotes, and more
Apply state-of-the-art sensing and haptic technologies to create innovative human interface devices
Author detailed engineering requirements specifications and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive results
Develop and manage electrical system designs, including power management, micro-controller, wireless communication, sensor integration, and component selection
Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure high-quality products and timely delivery
Requirements:
Working knowledge of board/system-level electrical designs with micro-controller
Hands-on experience in prototype design, bring-up, debugging, characterization, and functional verification
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with system-level design and common interfaces: I2C, SPI, JTAG, USB
Preferred Qualifications:
Successful track record of working closely with mechanical engineers and firmware teams
Experience in DC-DC converter design and application (buck and boost)
Experience in sensor selection and integration at the system level (capacitive, optical, resistive, or any type of sensors)
Experience in designing high-volume, high-quality consumer electronic products
Experience in data analysis and scripting languages
