Key Responsibilities:
Provide primary, preventive, and rehabilitative care to students and staff, including chronic disease management, health screenings, and medication management
Develop and implement individualized care plans for students with chronic conditions, such as diabetes, asthma, and severe allergies
Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to promote a healthy school environment and support student learning
Provide health education and counseling to students, parents, and staff on various health topics, including nutrition, mental health, and disease prevention
Participate in infectious disease control and surveillance, including immunization monitoring and follow-up
Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a BS Degree in Nursing, including a Public Health nursing rotation
6-12 months of professional nursing experience in a public health setting or related environment, preferably with 12 months of demonstrated experience in a specialty area
Possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse issued by the North Carolina Board of Nursing
National Certification in School Nursing required within three years of employment
