Your Impact: As a Senior Network Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the stability and efficiency of our global network infrastructure. Responsibilities:
Design and implement American Express data network solutions, including Global WAN, SD-WAN, IPSec VPN, MAN, LAN, and VXLAN Fabrics
Function as a technical Subject Matter Expert for American Express data networks, providing expert-level knowledge and guidance to stakeholders
Evaluate new and emerging network products and solutions, ensuring alignment with business and IT strategy
Assist with network automation initiatives, leveraging scripting and automation tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency
Provide Level 3 troubleshooting and support for critical network issues or outages, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal network performance
Coach, mentor, and train less experienced colleagues, sharing knowledge and expertise to promote growth and development
Provide architectural governance, reviewing projects to ensure alignment with architectural standards and technical strategy
Partner with third-party vendors and carriers to ensure quality delivery and adherence to standards
Requirements:
7+ years of experience in building and supporting Enterprise-scale data networks
Expert-level knowledge in routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF
Expert-level knowledge in routing, switching, and network technologies such as Spanning Tree, 802.1Q, Port-Channels, 802.1x, QoS, VLANs, SVIs, and Multicast
Strong knowledge of Cisco switching and routing platforms (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR/ASR) and Arista switches
Experience with SD-WAN technology and platforms, IPSec VPN technology and platforms, public cloud environments, and network automation and scripting
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate to all levels of peers, customers, and leadership
