Cornell University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to lead our Small Animal Surgery team as a Section Supervisor. Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, logistics support, and technical assistance for routine and complex surgical appointments, case workups, and procedures
Lead, facilitate, schedule, review, and support the needs of the team of LVTs, support staff, and DVM student workers
Shape the future of veterinary care through practical instruction of diverse DVM students
Liaise with other hospital services for efficient patient care and oversee diagnostic work-ups of patients
Manage inventory, workflow, and efficiency projects for the surgery group
Participate in cutting-edge veterinary research and clinical trials
Requirements:
Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology from an AVMA-accredited institution and 2-4 years of LVT experience
New York State licensure or eligibility to become licensed in NYS
Leadership, management, or supervisory experience highly preferred
Interest in ongoing career growth and advanced skill development
Excellent communication skills and willingness to work in a busy, team-oriented clinical environment
VTS in Surgery will be considered a plus, but not required
