We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mainframe Technical Support Specialist to join our team at Workwarp. As a key member of our technical support team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our mainframe systems and providing top-notch support to our customers.

Position: Mainframe Technical Support Specialist

Duration: 6-month contract
Job Summary:
In this Tier 1 technical support role, you will be responsible for handling all alerts, monitoring the system, and providing exceptional customer support. You will work closely with our development team to identify and troubleshoot issues, and escalate complex problems to our Level 2 support teams as needed.
Responsibilities:
Monitor IT infrastructure and applications to ensure peak efficiency and reliability
Provide real-time monitoring for Mainframe and Distributed systems to proactively detect and prevent service disruption
Diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems through resolution
Ensure proper procedures are followed to introduce changes and fixes into the operating environment and production libraries
Provide timely notification of Level 2 system and application support teams as necessary
Initiate and coordinate HealthCheck calls for problem identification and resolution
Create or alter new and existing jobs and job schedules on the mainframe, Windows, and UNIX environments
Perform job restarts with needed overrides and correct JCL syntax
Monitor the Scheduler queues to ensure job completion and/or error corrections have been performed
Requirements:
Excellent communication and customer support skills
Experience working in development and identifying/troubleshooting issues
Mainframe support experience is nice to have, but not required
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
