Job Title: ELA Assessment Writer (Grades 6–8) – MCQ Development Company: QBS Learning Engagement Type: Contract / Freelance Start Date: Immediate (Project starts this month) Duration: Until mid-March About the Project QBS Learning is onboarding experienced ELA Assessment Writers for an upcoming project (Grades 6–8). This role focuses exclusively on multiple-choice question (MCQ) development aligned to California standards. Key Responsibilities • Develop Grades 6–8 ELA multiple-choice assessment items • Write 7 MCQs per set, along with: • A brief preview (2–3 sentences) • A short summary (2–3 sentences) • Revise and incorporate client/editor feedback within given timelines • Ensure all items align with California ELA standards (Grades 6–8) • Adhere strictly to project guidelines, rubrics, and quality expectations Note: Passage writing is not included in the scope. Required Qualifications • Proven experience writing ELA MCQs for Grades 6–8 • Strong working knowledge of California ELA Standards (Grades 6–8) • Background in assessment writing, test development, or educational publishing • Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle feedback efficiently • Excellent written communication and attention to detail Preferred Qualifications • Prior experience working on Amplify or similar large-scale assessment programs • Experience collaborating with editors and project managers on fast-paced projects Compensation • USD 60 per set • Each set includes 7 MCQs + preview + summary • Compensation includes feedback incorporation Additional Opportunity • We are also seeking one Lead SME who can: • Represent QBS Learning in client meetings • Support alignment, quality discussions, and clarifications How to Apply Interested candidates may apply with: • Updated resume • Brief summary of Grades 6–8 ELA assessment writing experience • Sample MCQs (if available) Email your application to: [email protected] Job Types: Part-time, Contract Expected hours: 20 per week Work Location: Remote Apply tot his job
