Job Title: Billing Analyst - Estimates (Remote Opportunity)
Join Our Team: Unlock Your Potential as a Billing Analyst - Estimates at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), a leading academic health sciences center. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to fill the role of Billing Analyst - Estimates in our FIN | CORE Revenue Integrity department. As a Billing Analyst - Estimates, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive support for finance and patient care activities, with a focus on accurate and effective communication of patient out-of-pocket costs for hospital and physician services. Your expertise will be essential in performing tasks related to the estimates process, handling customer service calls, and collaborating with the team to drive success.
Key Responsibilities:
Review scheduled services and select CPT codes for upcoming appointments
Determine patient insurance status and create estimates for self-pay/out-of-network patients
Verify contact information and confirm patient receipt of estimates
Transfer patient charts to Pre-Registration for insurance verification
Provide exceptional customer service and respond to patient inquiries about the estimate process
Collaborate with the team to achieve departmental goals and objectives
Requirements:
High school diploma plus 5 years of relevant experience in a healthcare revenue cycle or bookkeeping function, or Bachelor's degree in business or related field with 1 year of applicable experience
Computer skills in data entry, charge entry, medical office, and/or hospital billing
Ability to sit continuously and work on a computer for an 8-hour day
Preferred Qualifications:
Coding certification
Experience with EPIC and chargemaster
Strong understanding of insurance and in-network/out-of-network concepts
