Location: Remote in the US
Employment type: Contract to hire - 12 months
Hourly Rate: $85.00-$90.0/hr.

Note: This role is strictly for development-focused candidates. We are not considering DevOps Engineers or traditional Cloud Engineers.
Job Summary:
We are seeking experienced Java/Python Developers with a strong background in database engineering and cloud-based service development. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in building serverless applications on AWS, have hands-on experience with Amazon DMS, and be comfortable working in a standalone agile development team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop scalable cloud-native services using Java and Python
• Migrate data and applications from SQL to DynamoDB
• Work with Amazon DMS for data movement
• Integrate and apply Amazon Q for AI-related development
• Develop using AWS Lambda and serverless architecture
• Support file-based integrations and encrypted file processing
• Set up messaging layers such as JMS, MQ, and Kafka queues
• Build services that process and transform messages (Message In Transformation Message Out)
• Develop solutions that connect Cloud to Cloud and Cloud to On-Prem systems
• Generate XML for integrations
• Participate in and facilitate SCRUM ceremonies, including leading daily standups as needed
• Use GitLab for source control and CI/CD
Required Skills & Experience:
• 15+ years of Java development experience
• Minimum 4 years of Python programming experience
• Strong experience with AWS services, especially Lambda, DMS, and DynamoDB
• Experience in serverless application design and development
• Familiarity with XML generation and file encryption
• Hands-on experience with messaging platforms (JMS, MQ, Kafka)
• Understanding of cloud connectivity patterns (Cloud-to-Cloud and Cloud-to-On-Prem)
• Familiar with GitLab for code management
• Agile experience, with ability to lead SCRUM activities
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in autonomous or small development teams
• Exposure to AI services within AWS, including Amazon Q
• Background in secure data exchange and integration services
