Java Developer, Junior (Remote Opportunity)

For more information, visit us at www.vetsez.com. VetsEZ is currently looking for a Java Developer, Junior to join a 100% remote team to support a large federal government project. A Junior Developer must have experience in the creation of error free software code under the direction and supervision of senior software development managers. Must have experience in both windows and web development environments. Must be able to write software documentation. The candidate must reside within the continental US. Responsibilities: • Experience experience in analyzing customer needs and developing overall concept and design objectives • Ability to create software in a variety of programming and for a variety of IT software applications • Analyze the needs and the environment to make sure the solution you’re developing considers the current architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements • Design, develop, and participate in coding activities • Work with the development team and production support team to ensure the applications are working as expected • Work with the project manager and technical lead to provide updates and progress on development projects • Participate in architecture enhancements by supporting enterprise and maintenance releases • Engage with external team members, business owners to explain the existing and new applications or functionalities • Maintain and assist in documenting processes to support other development efforts Requirements: • At least 2+ years of professional experience with service orientation concepts and enabling technologies • At least 2+ years of professional experience with Software Development and Implementation • At least 2+ years of professional experience in debugging and correcting errors in computer programs • At least 1+ year(s) of professional experience using Agile methodologies, system architecture and object-oriented software design, REST, SOAP Web Services, JavaScript, AngularJS, jQuery, Spring, RDBMS (Oracle, SQL), WebLogic, JPA/Hibernate and Java EE • Software development skills, including design, development, testing, deployment and support Additional Qualifications: • Experience with rule and BPM engines • Experience with REST API (RESTful API) • Experience using GitHub, Jira, Confluence • Experience with Ansible and Terraform • Experience with REACT and Python • Must be able to obtain a government security clearance.
