IT Technical Engineer
Job description
The IT Technical Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to users within the organization. They will play a crucial role in maintaining the IT infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of technology systems. The IT Technical Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and support IT projects, while also delivering high-quality customer service to internal users.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person to resolve hardware, software, or network-related issues.
Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems related to computer hardware, software applications, operating systems, and network connectivity.
Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware, software, and peripherals, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.
Set up and manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in various systems and... applications.
Collaborate with other IT team members to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
Assist in the maintenance and management of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
Perform regular system updates, backups, and security checks to ensure data integrity and system reliability.
Respond to and resolve IT-related service requests in a timely manner, adhering to defined service level agreements (SLAs).
Create and maintain technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides and knowledge base articles.
Assist in the procurement and inventory management of IT equipment and software licenses.
Stay informed about the latest technology trends and best practices in the IT support industry.
Provide IT training and guidance to users on various software applications and tools.
Participate in IT projects and initiatives, contributing to the successful implementation of new technologies and processes.
Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues and escalate problems as necessary.
Ensure compliance with IT security policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as an IT Technical Engineer or in a similar technical support role.
Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, software applications, and network concepts.
Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues on Windows and/or Mac systems. Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft Office Suite, and other common business applications.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Effective communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Customer-oriented approach with a focus on delivering high-quality service.
