Job Title:IT Security Engineer (100% Remote)
Position Type: Contract
Location: Framingham, MA
Primary Skills: Firewall Engineering
Key Responsibilities:
ā¢ Design, install, and support Genetec access control and CCTV systems
ā¢ Configure and program security hardware (cameras, locks, alarms, sensors, etc.)
ā¢ Deploy and manage virtual machines (VMware, Hyper-V, cloud)
ā¢ Troubleshoot security systems and ensure everything works correctly
ā¢ Set up networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, etc.)
ā¢ Communicate with teams and clients to understand needs and provide custom solutions
ā¢ Stay up to date with the latest security technologies and trends
ā¢ Maintain technical documentation and system designs
ā¢ Provide technical support and user training
ā¢ Participate in testing, knowledge sharing, and project meetings
Must-Have Qualifications:
ā¢ Bachelor's degree in tech/IT or equivalent experience
ā¢ 8+ years working with:
ā¢ Genetec access control and video management systems
ā¢ Axis and Hanwha cameras
ā¢ Installing software like Genetec, Salient, Omnicast, Synergis
ā¢ Strong knowledge of networking and server infrastructure
ā¢ Hands-on experience with intrusion detection systems (DMP, Bosch preferred)
ā¢ Genetec certifications
ā¢ Familiar with security system compliance and best practices
ā¢ Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks
ā¢ Comfortable with both Agile and Waterfall project methods
