IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)

Remote Full-time
About the position

The IT Cybersecurity Specialist (InfoSec) position is a critical role within the Department of Defense, specifically under the DISA-Risk Management Directorate. This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service, which means it does not convey eligibility for conversion to the Competitive Service. The role is essential for supporting the mission of the US Cyber Command and is classified within the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. The position is located at the Letterkenny Army Depot in Pennsylvania and is a permanent, full-time role with a salary range of $56,654 to $128,956 per year, depending on the grade level upon selection. As an IT Cybersecurity Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, prescribing, and implementing IT cybersecurity policies. This includes conducting cybersecurity evaluations of IT systems to identify requirements and assisting in efforts to fully automate network systems cybersecurity. You will also provide problem resolution in the cybersecurity area by troubleshooting issues and performing planning, programming, and budgeting responsibilities. The position requires a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and may be required to obtain a security clearance due to the nature of the work. The position may involve occasional travel, and relocation expenses may be reimbursed in accordance with agency policy. The role does not have supervisory status and is not subject to a drug test, but it does require a trust determination process as part of the security clearance process. The position is open to the public, and applications will be accepted until the closing date or until 100 applications have been received, whichever comes first.
