IT Applications Analyst - Energy Management and Market Solutions

The IT Applications Analyst will support the energy management system within the Energy Management and Market Solutions group, working closely with control centers and business departments to maintain system configurations and develop solutions for business requirements.ResponsibilitiesSupports computer systems, software applications, databases and toolsAnalyzes error conditions, identifies potential causes of problems, utilizes root cause analysis techniques, and looks for multiple solutions and expedites resolutionFull stack software development of energy management system applicationsDesigns, modifies, develops, implements, and tests system configurationsWrites/reviews documentation to describe configuration processes, logic, and test plansWrites/reviews manuals for usersDesigns, develops and maintains plans related to data integrity, system reliability, and consistencyActs as a liaison between various groups, such as the field support teams, Database Administration, Network Support, and Computer OperationsDevelops implementation plans for individual or small group tasks and small to medium projectsAccountable for developing scope, estimation, and tracking time and resources expended on projectsPerform on-call responsibilities as part of an on-call rotationSkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, MIS, Data Science, Information Science, Engineering is requiredOther bachelor's degrees will be considered based on related IT experienceSuccessful completion of a certified Application Development Apprenticeship will also be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degreeThis position requires unescorted access to certain critical cyber assets which would require applicants to satisfy all Company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, which includes a background investigationA strong technical understanding of application development practices and strong analytical skillsStrong customer service skills to act as a liaison between IT and business clientsCoding experience utilizing Microsoft's VB.Net or .Net platformRelational database knowledge, such as Microsoft SQL ServerAbility to present technical information to non-technical users both in small and large groupsAbility to understand technical environments to support the energy management systemAbility to collect and analyze data in order to figure out the root cause for issuesBenefitsCompetitive pay and benefitsCompany OverviewWEC Energy Group is one of the nation’s largest electric and natural gas delivery companies.
