Investigations and Law Enforcement Development Internships and Fellowships - Field Office Deployment

Support IJM’s mission to protect vulnerable people from violence by assisting investigations and law enforcement development in global field offices. Your Role: Key responsibilities include: • Supporting IJM staff in liaising with local law enforcement to ensure intervention for victim rescue and perpetrator arrest. • Assisting with writing and editing reports of investigation activities. • Organizing and tracking progress of ongoing operations, including operation stages and expenses. • Creating intelligence reports that organize and analyze data. • Maintaining department databases and files. • Assisting in developing protocols, procedures, and best practices for the Investigations department. • Assisting with organizing, administering, and documenting ongoing training in Investigations. • Researching future equipment needs and purchases. • Operating and maintaining investigative equipment. • Facilitating investigations through logistical support as needed. • Developing and training Investigations Staff in investigation techniques. • Assisting Investigations staff in case development and case management. • Assisting in the review of case investigations and providing appropriate feedback. • Compiling criminal intelligence, entering information in the intelligence database, and analyzing intelligence to provide investigative leads. • Assisting in operations planning, risk assessment, and risk management. • Program duration is 12 months, from June 2026 - May 2027. About You: Candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills: For Internships: • Bachelor’s degree. • Organizational and administrative skills. • Attention to detail. • Knowledge of Microsoft software and Windows is strongly preferred. • Fluency in Spanish is required for Latin America offices. For Fellowships: • Minimum of five years as a commissioned local, state, or federal law enforcement officer. • Minimum of two years Vice and Narcotics and/or undercover investigations experience and Field Training Officer experience preferred. • Tactical experience and/or critical incident management experience preferred. • Fluency in Spanish required for Latin America offices.
