About the position

The Student Assistant for Grant Programs will support the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) in executing and reporting on its grant programs. This part-time, temporary position is designed for college students and will involve administrative support under the supervision of the Grants Manager. The role emphasizes research, data analysis, and customer service to enhance the effectiveness of grant initiatives.

Responsibilities
Ā• Assist in the administration of the DFPI Grant Program and related initiatives.

Ā• Review, write, edit, and analyze grant reports.
,
Ā• Support research and analyze grant impacts, trends, and program metrics.
,
Ā• Provide timely and professional customer service to grantees and program stakeholders.
,
Ā• Assist with general administrative tasks.
,
Ā• Perform other job-related duties as required.

Requirements
Ā• Must be a college student attending classes during the regular term at an accredited college or university.
,
Ā• Enrolled in at least six-semester units or nine quarter units for undergraduate students; four-semester units or six quarter units for graduate students.
,
Ā• Declared major must match the major(s) listed in the job posting, such as Public Administration, Economics, Finance, Political Science, or a related field.

Ā• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
,
Ā• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
,
Ā• Experience in conducting thorough research and analyzing data.
,
Ā• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
,
Ā• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
