Intern, Merchandising (MBA) Remote Opportunity JOB OVERVIEW Soko Glam is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate student interested in gaining hands-on experience and assisting with key internal projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive team player to learn the basics of e-commerce best practices. This includes functional skills such as retail math, systems training, market analysis and forecasting, merchandise distribution and allocation, and relationship development with our brand partners. The Fall internship program will run from September 13, 2021 until December 3, 2021. This is a paid, part-time internship with an hourly rate and an anticipated time commitment of 20-25 hours per week (Monday-Friday with lunch breaks; schedules may vary depending on function specific needs and intern availability). Interns who are based in the NY metro area will have the opportunity to also work out of the NY office (1261 Broadway). During the internship program, participants will be paired with a supervisor who will provide them with on-the-job training and projects. The program also incorporates additional learning components focused on professional development, exposure to various functional business areas, and the opportunity to interact with senior executives. Participants will also work on a function specific project designed to address a current company initiative and/or business gap. Overall, the program includes on-the-job training, shadow sessions with our leaders, functional focused intern project(s), a book club, and other interesting components. RESPONSIBILITIES • Work with the Merchandising team to learn how to manage the business with the objective of increasing sales and earnings for sokoglam.com • Assist with financial performance management, inventory management, and merchandising distribution • Assist in the planning of exclusive sets and products and in the development of future promotional and digital merchandising strategies • Perform sales analysis with a focus on extracting insight from product and service reviews and data • Evaluate competitors’ promotions, merchandising strategies and conduct research on market trends • Strategize and implement relevant partnerships with brands QUALIFICATIONS • Currently enrolled and pursuing an MBA or other relevant advanced degree • Highly proficient in Google Drive and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) • 2+ years professional work experience in e-commerce, finance/consulting, or marketing • Passionate about the beauty and e-commerce industry and making an impact at a rapidly growing company • Entrepreneurial mindset will be critical in shaping the role given the variety of needs within our rapidly growing company • Weekly time commitment of 20 hrs (09/13 - 12/03) We are an Equal Employment Opportunity (“EEO”) Employer.
