PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Accurately enter payer information into multiple databases and follow established procedures for distributing information for further review
· Follow up with carriers for precertification numbers and file completed requests as per established procedures
· Continually monitor schedule to ascertain most current data
· Verify benefits of each case and appropriately note account for workers comp cases and motor vehicle accidents
· Acquire precertification for each case and actively upload to patient file
· Document all pertinent information and communications in database
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelors degree preferred
EXPERIENCE: 2 years Insurance Verification experience required. Out of Network experience preferred.
SKILLS: Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a changing work environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and on a team. Ability to interpret an Explanation of Benefits and take additional and necessary steps towards payment. Familiarity with Microsoft applications and database software. Strong attention to detail.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
