Responsibilities
• Ensure all pre-service accounts are financially cleared prior to the date of service.

• Obtain and verify accurate insurance information and benefit validation.

• Authorize and manage preservice collections for various visit types.

• Collect and document all required demographic and financial information.
,
• Activate registration and discharge processes in a timely manner.
,
• Analyze patient insurance to identify the correct insurance plan and document accordingly.

• Verify patient information with third-party payers and collect insurance referrals.
,
• Communicate with patients and physician offices regarding authorization and referral requirements.

• Identify potential needs for financial responsibility forms and escalate accounts as necessary.

Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
,
• 3 to 5 years of financial clearance experience in an acute care setting.
,
• Comprehensive knowledge of financial clearance and insurance verification processes.
,
• Proficiency in Patient Registration/Patient Accounting systems and related software.
,
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office business software.

Nice-to-haves
• NAHAM CHAA or AAHAM CRCS certification, strongly preferred.

• NAHAM CHAM or AAHAM CRCP certification preferred.
