Insurance Defense Attorney with a Focus on Tort Law

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced trial attorney to join our team as an Insurance Defense Trial Attorney. As a key member of our legal department, you will be responsible for representing clients in all cases assigned by your supervisor, handling matters of moderate to great complexity, and assisting in the handling of cases assigned to other attorneys.

Key Responsibilities:
- Handle cases involving unique legal or procedural issues, including preparation of pleadings, motions, discovery, and briefs;
- Attend hearings, conferences, interviews, trials or arbitrations, and perform any other tasks necessary for proper representation;
- Assist other attorneys in such cases as assigned;
- Functionally supervise attorneys who have been requested to assist in the handling of particular cases;
- Consult with and render opinions to members of the Claims Departments regarding insurance policy questions and questions concerning the legal aspects of personal injury claims;
- Maintain and update computerized litigation support systems for assigned caseloads;
- Perform other functions as assigned;

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
- Bachelor's degree required;
- Law school degree and member in good standing of the State Bar in the state where the position is located;
- At least three years as an Attorney, including civil jury trial experience or equivalent dispositive ADR experience;
- Must be capable of handling cases of moderate to great exposure and/or complexity with minimum supervision;
