Instructor, Dental Radiography Department: Health Industry Solutions Location: Manufacturing Technology Center Reports To: Dir, Healthcare Solutions Recruitment Type: External/Internal Requisition ID: req5389 Employment Type: Part-Time Faculty UnionPosition: Non-UnionWork Schedule: As needed by program Job Description: SUMMARY Teaches a full range of skills and knowledge in the Dental Assistant Radiography: Initial Training and Dental Radiography: Radiation Protection Update workshops. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Implements approved direct Dental Assistant curriculum to enhance the learning options of program participants • Monitors attendance, maintains records, scores and evaluates educational performance of participants • When appropriate identifies and refers participants for supportive services to enhance student success • Performs other duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING • Associate of Science with teaching experience in an allied Dental Program • Three years of demonstrated experience as a Dental Assistant • Ohio Dental Assisting Radiographer Certification or RDH • Demonstrated experience with distance education KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES • Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills • Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with bolthires Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Ability to assess and grade the progress of students • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment • Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population COMPETENCIES CRITICAL COMPETENCIES • Service Focus • Communication • Quality of Work VERY IMPORTANT COMPETENCIES • Time Utilization • Collaboration IMPORTANT COMPETENCIES • Adaptability • Continuous Improvement PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING • Bachelor of Science • CDA or RDH • Three years of teaching Radiography in an allied Dental Program • Development and implementation of distance learning courses PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS (The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.) • The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment; • The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated; • Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type.
