Instructional Designer Remote / Telecommute Jobs

Our client is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to design and develop high-quality learning solutions supporting emergency management and simulation-based training programs. This role collaborates closely with developers, project managers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and UI/UX teams to translate complex technical and operational information into clear, engaging, and effective learning experiences. Target start date: March 1, 2026

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop instructional content and curriculum aligned with the ADDIE learning model

Create learning solutions supporting emergency management simulation development.

Develop a comprehensive suite of job aids and performance support materials.

Create and maintain content for the Coast Guard Proficiency Library

Design and deliver seven (7) formal virtual training modules

Ensure all instructional materials align with Incident Command System (ICS) standards

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure instructional accuracy, usability, and learner engagement

Translate highly technical information into accessible, learner-centered training materials

Participate in weekly reviews of work completed with goals and milestones in mind.

Required Qualifications

Proven experience as an Instructional Designer

Mandatory experience using the ADDIE instructional design model

Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively

Experience working collaboratively with developers, PMs, SMEs, and UI/UX teams

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting DHS, U.S. Coast Guard, or Emergency Management organizations

Familiarity with ICS frameworks and standards

Experience designing instructional content for software or simulation-based systems

Travel Requirements

Occasional travel to customer sites as needed
