Position DetailsPosition NameInstructional Coach, English Language Arts (9-12)Reporting ManagerAssistant Director, Academics (9-12)Position StatusSalary, Exempt Position TypeRegular, Full-Time (12) Program or SchoolTexas Virtual SchoolsEquipment DetailsYes (W2) OverviewThe Instructional Coach, English Language Arts (9–12) will be responsible for supporting and strengthening Tier 2 instructional practices to improve literacy outcomes for high school students. This position will primarily focus on aligning intervention strategies with STAAR standards, utilizing student data to drive targeted instruction, and be able to coach teachers through modeling best practices, providing actionable feedback, and ensuring consistent, high-quality implementation of Tier 2 interventions.Essential DutiesEnsure Tier 2 Instruction is Aligned and Implemented with FidelitySupport Tier 2 teachers in aligning instruction with STAAR standards and ensure consistent, high-quality implementation across teachers .Coach and Support Effective Instructional StrategiesWork directly with Tier 2 teachers to identify, observe, and promote the most effective instructional strategies for intervention.Provide Ongoing Feedback and Model Best PracticesConduct regular teacher observations, provide actionable feedback, and model evidence-based strategies to support teacher growth and instructional effectiveness.Monitor and Analyze Student ProgressTrack student performance data to evaluate the effectiveness of Tier 2 instruction and identify students not making adequate progress.Design and Support Targeted Follow-Up InstructionCollaborate with teachers to create and implement follow-up instructional plans and activities that address specific skill deficits identified through progress monitoring.Knowledge, Skills & AttributesAt least 3-5 years of successful ELA classroom teaching experienceStrong knowledge of Tier 2 intervention instructional strategies and assessment toolsProficiency in analyzing student performance data to guide instruction and interventionsAbility to provide constructive, non-evaluative feedback and model effective teaching strategiesExcellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers and leadershipExperience designing or supporting targeted follow-up instruction based on student needsFamiliarity with progress monitoring and using data to track student growthOrganizational skills to manage coaching schedules, observations, and follow-up supportCompetency in educational technology tools for instruction and data managementExperience supporting or coaching teachers, especially in Tier 2 intervention settings (preferred)Education & Certification RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Education, English or a related field is required.A valid Texas teaching certificate (with an endorsement in English Language Arts and Reading, Grades 7–12).Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related field would be preferred.Benefits & Incentives (Full-Time Only)Competitive vacation and paid time off plansComprehensive medical (HMO, HDHP, and PPO), dental, and vision plans with varying coverage for employees and their families with options available in all states, including a high-deductible health plan (HDHP) option.401(k) retirement plan (pre- and post-tax options) with matching contribution up to 3% after one year of employmentAdditional supplemental disability, life, critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident, legal aid, and ID theft protection plansFlexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA)Two paid closure weeks each year (weeks of July 4 and December 25)10 Company-paid HolidaysEmployment "At-Will" For W-2 employment, Stellar Virtual is an at-will employer.
